Tiger Fishing Zambezi Rapid Runners 2019
Tiger Fishing Zambezi Rapid Runners 2019
Rapid runners 2019 is a fishing club at Olive Beadle. It is situated where the Zambezi river meets Kariba. This is a key tiger fishing zambezi location
2019 was the lowest I have ever seen the river, measuring 2 feet in front of the club.
2 factors attribute to this. One is The amount of water flowing at Big tree. (Just above Victoria Falls)
On the 1st of November 2019 the volume of water was 170 CM/s. This being about half of the yearly average. Two is the Kariba dam level which was 477 meters above sea level .
The Low water made it difficult to get upstream!
we had to lift the motor and and go slowly and in some cases get out and pull the boat over some sand bars. as a result, our efforts were rewarded
The fishing up there was fantastic!
Tiger lures Spinners
The copper tiger spinner with orange polka dot was the best!
The small Nembwe spinner in pearl glow fitted with a 3/0 single hook worked well in shallow water. We witnessed some spectacular acrobatic jumps
Here are some of the spinner and hook combinations that we tried
We had hundreds of strikes and managed to land in excess of 70 tiger in 6 days of Fishing,
OARGEE LURES
OARGEE Lures OARSOME in 90 and 130 mm work well in this area,
There are some deep holes where you need to get that lure down into the zone
